Summary

British Columbia’s Southwest Region has significant sources of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions. Finding and technically assessing feasible CO₂ sequestration targets in the region would be a benefit and would provide information to help in decision making by government, communities, Indigenous groups and industry.

The region is host to thick, deep, sandstone formations however research is needed to understand their potential for CO₂ sequestration.
